Upgrading to the latest version

If you are upgrading from an earlier version of GaussSum 1.0, you should remove the folder where you installed GaussSum. Next, download and extract the new GaussSum scripts as described in the installation notes for your system (on the previous pages). You may have to recreate any shortcuts you had for GaussSum on your desktop.

For Linux users upgrading from a version of GaussSum older than 0.9, you should also upgrade Gnuplot to version 4.0 (see installation instructions on the previous page).

Windows users upgrading from a version of GaussSum older than 0.9 should be aware that an executable version of GaussSum is no longer available. If you have not already installed Python, follow the instructions in the installation notes for Windows to do so (see Installing Python). Also, there is no longer any need to install Gnuplot separately, as it is bundled with Gnuplot. You should uninstall any versions of Gnuplot older than 4.0 if they are not needed by other programs. To install GaussSum 1.0.4, follow the instructions here: Install the GaussSum Python scripts and Gnuplot.
